WELCOME
This website is for former pupils of the Liverpool Institute High School for Girls, more commonly known as Blackburne House School.
Our school badge showed an intertwined B and H flanked by the two liver birds and Latin text which translates as ‘not for ourselves alone but for the whole world were we born’.
The school existed from 1844 until 1985 and was situated in Blackburne House, which stands at the corner of Blackburne Place and Hope Street, in Liverpool, UK.
We hope you find the information provided useful. Please explore the website and make sure to look at our About and Events pages and feel free to Contact us with any queries or suggestions.
We work in close partnership with the management team of Blackburne House Group, which has guardianship of the Blackburne House building as it is today.
